My new home!
It’s been some time now that I’ve wanted to buy a home. Like so many other things in life, the timing just was never right…until this weekend. I am now the proud owner of my own home! I bought a duplex in Minooka, Illinois - a fast growing community, or village, as they call cities in these parts. It is a tad bit farther from the city and airport than I am now (like 4 more miles southwest), but it’s close to the things that are important in my daily life and more and moreis built in Minooka each week. It reminds me of how AZ just expanded overnight a few shorts years ago.
Anyway, my new place is a duplex connected by the garage only. The garage itself is not my favorite part. It is what they call “tandem” and it means that Mike and I will be parking one behind the other. And no, he is not moving in now, but that it the plan eventually. And he’ll be over lots anyway, so it was something to consider. The things I fell in love with were the loft, it’s just perfect, the fact that I can put up a fence on my fully sodded and lanscaped yard, the filtered water and ice in the fridge, the ALL NEW EVERYTHING, that oval mirror in the 1/2 bath and the brushed nickel fixtures. Also, that fact that all byt maybe the front room are rooms I will spend lots of time in, so I won’t feel like I’ve spent all this money on a house with all this space and only live in half of it, you know?
It’s hard to see how cute it is in pictures, but here ya go anyway…
